The Modern Breeze
Cleethorpes Summer 2026 (Watercolour & Pencil)
The Modern Breeze is a delicate watercolour study in which the quiet poetry of the countryside meets the graceful geometry of modern renewable energy. A broad, clear blue sky stretches across the composition, its gives the painting an airy, luminous quality. Slender wind turbines rise elegantly from the landscape, carefully spaced among the fields so that their pale, rhythmic forms become almost as natural as land surrounding them.
In the foreground, meadow grass and wild vegetation are suggested in loose, expressive washes, leading the eye towards the distant turbines and giving the scene a pleasing sense of depth. The turbines themselves provide a subtle contrast.
The painting evokes a sense of quiet optimism, presenting technology not as an intrusion upon the countryside, but as a graceful contemporary presence within it.

Plastic Flowers in Cut Glass
Living room display 2026 (Watercolour)
A small display of artificial purple flowers sits in an expensive cut-glass vase on a side table. Bright, artificial petals contrast with the weight, clarity and sparkle of finely worked glass. The simplicity of the arrangement draws attention to this quiet irony: cheap imitation flowers presented in a vessel of luxury. Yet there is also an unexpected harmony between them, as the purple blooms contrast the light absorbed by the glass, transforming something ordinary and artificial into a curious and quietly elegant still life.

Balcony over the Mediterranean – Benidorm 2026
(Watercolour)
From the Balcón del Mediterráneo, the harbour opens below in a bright sweep of blue and yellow, framed by the white stone buildings of Cerro Canfali. This quick watercolour, presents a hillside that falls gently towards a sheltered beach, where rows of sunlit properties descend as a backdrop in loose, rhythmic layers. The fleeting colours capture the atmosphere rather than every detail—the sea, pale buildings and curve of the shore combining in a simple impression of Mediterranean midday light and tranquillity.

Benidorm Beachfront 2026
(Watercolour)
A small scale watercolour capturing the iconic group of palm trees along Benidorm’s beach promenade. Sun-drenched trunks rise gracefully against the brilliant Mediterranean sand and sky, their dry foliage fronds swaying above the warm sweep of the seafront. Golden sand, and sunlit pavement evoke the rhythm of a summer day within a timeless holiday atmosphere.

Spanish Oranges at market
(Watercolour)
A vibrant cluster of freshly picked oranges glows in quiet market setting. The watercolour is pared back to show just glowing oranges and a few deep, dark leaves, creating a striking contrast between warm colour and shadow. The loose, bright tones give the fruit a fresh, sunlit zest.
